Happy Halloween!

Oh my goodness. So, I had such a dilemma trying to figure out what I was going to be for Halloween. I was REALLY excited when I came across the information that Josie (and the Pussycats) was an official costume this year, but I wasn’t digging it. I prefer Josie from the movie… purple corset, not cheetah print, skin tight dress. After a serious conversation with myself, I decided that I was going to be Jem (and the Holograms). Partially, I was excited to do some crazy makeup–because after all this is the one day of the year that you can dress however you want and it’s cool. Judge-free zone.

Then, a lightbulb went off. What if I was Jem… but sang Josie songs?! I would get to rock out to some of my favorite jams, dress in pink and have sparkly makeup! Done deal.

So my costume is a bit of a hybrid. Visually, it is Jem. Mentally, it is Josie. She’s quite complex ;o)

As for Melky, she was “Melly Mouse” (like Minnie Mouse). She didn’t really like the skirt too much so I didn’t get a very good photo of her wearing it. If we’re friends on SnapChat, you saw me attempt! haha

Some of my friends already asked me how I did my eyes, so if you’re not a makeup person… skip this list.
Eye Colors:
Urban Decay eyeliner – Woodstock
Urban Decay eyeshadow – Woodstock
MAC – Pink Freeze (highlight under the eyebrow and outer area by tear duct)
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot – Bare Study
MAC Eyelash Prep & Prime
MAC Mascara – False Lashes Extreme Black
Urban Decay – Bondage Weightless Makeup Adhesive
Glitter – cosmetic loose glitter… I got this awhile back and it isn’t sold anymore. Sorry! It’s a flamingo pink color.

Rather than the standard eye shape that I’ve seen done for Jem’s makeup, I did one based on the Ultimate Warrior’s look so that it followed the roundness in my cheeks and the end of my natural brow line on the outside.

Lips:
MAC Lipstick – Girl About Town

Body Shimmer:
Urban Decay – Naked – Illumination – Luminous

Blush:
I actually used an eyeshadow from MAC (Swish). Kinda cheated on that one haha.

Alas, I present you with the… “I clearly had nothing to do while I was waiting to hand out candy” video.
