One excuse that I hear many people making about their fitness is that they do not belong to a gym due to many reasons like time and financials. I think many of us find ourselves in that same boat–but the difference is our mindset.
We should be cognizant of the fact that the American Heart Association has done a great deal of research and has told us that heart disease is 80% preventable. We need to be accountable for our health if we can control the risk factors.
As someone who has unfortunately been through a heart related illness, I can tell you that it is extremely scary and I would not wish it on anyone. It is horrifying to think that I could encounter another heart related illness in the future. That’s what keeps me motivated–knowing that I have the odds on my side; you do too!
In this really quick video, I just wanted to show you four different exercises that you can do at home. You’ll see me using a free weight in the squat & press example, but you can use different types of weighted objects that you’re able to find around your home–be creative! The object does not have to be really heavy–start light with 5 to 10 pounds.
